yo, pattinson has been on a generational run of extremely talented vocal performances. from batman, to boy and the heron, to now mickey17, he’s demonstrated mastery over his craft.

unfortunately for mickey17, i didn’t find much great outside of pattinson.

from a technical perspective, i thought most of the movie was fine to good, with a few great moments. i thought the score was probably the strongest in this area, ranging from quirky sounds to match what was taking place…

    I reallllyyy enjoyed this

This film felt really nostalgic in a way, which may be strange given the subject matter, but idk I got serious early 2010 vibes all throughout the movie.

There were many stunning cinematography moments. I thought the repeated use of that single song worked really well. It’s such a simple movie, but has such a beam of character to it and a really, just, interesting aesthetic to it.

This movie really might push me to watch…

I’m so happy this movie exists. It’s so good man. An absolute pleasure to watch both times. The marriage scene has made me choke up twice now.

The editing is strong. The screenplay is witty and snappy, just the way I like it, and so so so funny. The music selection is excellent. Last but not least, Mikey’s acting performance is absolute MASTERY. It’s unbelievable watching her interviews and comparing that with her performance in this film.

I think it’s missing just that little bit of excellence and sense of a total package for me to give it a 5, but I love it.
