Excellent documentary aiming to stop the disinformation campaign surrounding climate change. If we give people the data, we empower the people, and that’s what’s so urgently needed. Climate policy needs public support, and the lifestyle and consumption of the people are at the centre of the climate negotiations. We need to realize that the decisions we make in the supermarket, the decisions we make in our daily life, are contributing directly to climate change.

What actions should we be taking?…

The beginning was a little boring and slow, in fact, the only reason I sat through it was because I was waiting for Matthias Schoenaerts to appear. Since his first moments were quite short I decided to give it just a little more time, and that’s when I actually started enjoying the movie.
The story is beautiful, but the pace is slow and quiet. It’s still an enjoyable movie, mainly because of the great acting. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford are amazing together, and Matthias Schoenaerts’ acting performance was solid next to this famous pair.

‘Bienvenue à Marly-Gomont’ is so much more than just a comedy! It’s an uplifting, touching, inspiring, delightful movie about racism and the struggle for equality in rural France. It managed to give an accurate but entertaining take on this type of villages in Europe. Unfortunately, the acting of most of the villagers was a little disappointing, however, that was completely compensated by Marc Zinga (who’s actually Belgian!) and the amazing Aïssa Maïga. It’s a beautiful and touching story that will definitely make you bounce between tearing up and chuckling.

It’s both the ultimate feel good movie and an uplifting plea for equality between races and genders. The story lines of three ground breaking women are weaved together perfectly enough for the movie to be entertaining, engaging and empowering without ever being preachy. Cinematographically this movie might be a little dull, but the perfect pacing, wonderful music and superb acting definitely make up for that. It’s an inspiring delightful must-see movie, from the historical, civil rights, and feminist perspective.
