  an absolute gut wrenching yet beautiful movie. Adrien Brody is a fantastic actor, and as much as I hate Polanski, he did a phenomenal job at directing this -- I think he captured the deep, dark, depressing tones very very well while not diverting away from Spzeilman's story too much, and simultaneously also defined the atrocities the Nazi's imposed upon the Poles. also, given the fact that Polanski's family lived through the Polish Campaign(Krakow Ghetto more specifically) I feel like…
