The White Tiger 2021
From the thirty seconds of the trailer I got through before I agreed to watch the movie I thought it would be similar to slum dog millionaire, or another rags to riches story. It is a rags to riches story but one including no fairy tale and a “happy” ending stained with dark shadows.
It takes a hard look at India’s servant and caste system. As someone who didn’t know anything about the book or that it was even BASED off a book I was surprised at the end. Not that I didn’t see it coming but I wasn’t sure if he was capable.
