    David Locke’s mid life crisis is the picture of identity, disillusionment, and existentialism. He impersonates an arms dealer without even knowing the full story and just goes along with it to feel something. He didn’t even do it for journalism! I was really excited for what his wife had to say to him if he hadn’t died. The beginning of the movie really depicted solitude and frustration— Nick was trying to sleep next to us and the movie had no words 

    This reminded me a lot of The Stranger by Camus. Maybe I’m finally understanding what postmodernism’s performative irony is

    He had so much money but the one thing he was looking for was never found and thrown into a fire. Assorted quotes: “If I hadn’t been so rich, I would’ve been a good man” “No special interests should interfere with the truth at the daily inquirer” Charles Kane started off so noble but the entire movie felt like he was trying to control other people’s perception of the truth. “The only terms anyone ever really knows is their own” …
