Another excellent vibes movie with a gut punch final quarter. Nothing like watching how poor people operate in a heat wave, so many warm tones in this movie. If you don’t agree with Sal’s getting burnt down I dunno what to tell ya. His words to his son ring empty when he won’t even hang pictures of black celebrities in his restaurant, and uses slurs a few scenes later. He does nothing actionable, he is all sentiment, people over property.

What if Gina and I were in Poland, the film.
I never once found Benji to be unlikable even though he got close when pushing the limits of the status quo, mainly due to him always speaking from the heart / with emotional intention even if it was intense sometimes. This movie is so masterfully done and almost meta as Kieren sweeps awards shows leaving Jesse in the shadows. It reminded me a lot of The Trip, you’re taking a tour through Poland with people, enjoying a guided trip while the people you’re with become more real as time passes. Say how you fucking feel more!

This movie is like a warm hug at home after a walk in the cold. Fits right in with movies I loved as a kid, very Labyrinth, very Never-Ending story. Love all the painterly backdrops, love how quickly they establish interesting characters, love a long long roll down a hill. I need more movies like this please!
