  Kang was great, Scott was great, Hope was there I guess, and every other character was either very annoying or aggressively boring. The ant subplot was ridiculous (but not in a good way) and made the victory feel unearned. Egg man made me viscerally uncomfortable and I don’t know how that idea made it through an entire army of creative directors. Hope’s haircut was a crime against humanity, but the holes jokes were funny.

  So glad I chose this as my first movie watch of the new year. Brilliant performances by everyone involved and gorgeous visuals. This film was incredibly fun and I deeply wish it had been given more of a chance to thrive in the theaters. An easy 5-star film for me.
