Wonderfully shot, beautifully directed & gorgeously acted out. I was filled with a sense of dread and unease from beginning to end.
Nicholas Hoult was the standout in this film for me as the first act solely focuses on his terror, desperation, confusion & descent into madness. All of these emotions are palpable every time the camera is on him or around him.
Count Orlok remained an ever-present shadow throughout the film, which we can attribute to Eggers directional choices & the ways…
