silly vibes political commentary with challengers-esque moments as a bonus — in space! I laughed and I got concerned, which is how I feel about our current political climate.

it had me until I checked the time about 3/4 of the way through. special shoutout to rob’s accent which was so goofy in a perfect way.

The first half was so incredibly strong. Almost a Homeric epic. And then, in the second half, they thematically bit off more than they could chew.

experimental in its deviation from typical filmmaking but for an absolutely breathtaking, visceral reason.

to indirectly quote the filmmakers, it’s important that we puncture the membrane between these stories and audiences, to break the cycle of simply being voyeurs into these violent stories of American history. instead of saying we need more of these stories, let’s stop to ask how this happened.

feeling incredibly moved, lucky that films like this are made, and filmmakers like ramell ross exist!

Q&A with RaMell Ross, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Jono Fray.
