a beautiful end to the franchise. wept lots. leo woodall crossing off 'wet shirt scene' from his heartthrob bucket list was a treat and the film was full of lots of hilarious moments. perhaps tonally at odds with the other three films as it felt like it was in a slightly different world but maybe that's ok

the pool 😭😂⚡️ this was so jokes and theo james is so pretty. i think i was expecting more It vibes but it felt very new era Scream. A montage of exceptionally specific deaths rivalling '1001 ways to die'.

perfectly represented the horror of the 'bloodlands' (in this case Belarus) during the war between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. most violence happened out of sight which added a layer of poignancy to the graphic end results that were then shown (much like the subjects in the notorious archival photographs and film reels of the time). profoundly anti-war, absolutely devastating. an essential watch.

hugh grant is very hugh grant. the film felt very different to what the trailer pitched so shoutout to them for getting bums on seats because this film was largely unsatisfying. lukewarm jump-scares and a dollop of theological rhetoric that was largely fuelled by content a teenager with a hyper-fixation could discover during a brief wikipedia rabbit hole. nevertheless a fun evening, but not worthy of art house prices (we went to a vue so all good)
