I enjoyed this more than most probably will. As La La land is my favorite movie it’s not to see be in the same vein as la la while addressing some aspect of love and relationship that la la land didn’t. It feels very human, the sent up for the relationship is a fantasy senecio but it still feels human, and like this could happen in the real world. It’s sexy and intimate when it needs to be without feeling forced or being overly erotic.
Challengers suprised me. Is was far more sexy than I expected it to be and it didn’t come across cringy or forced at all, given the relationship of the main characters in the movie. It also moved along very fast, and thankfully given how often the movie jumps timelines, none of the character development or plot point “slipped through the cracks” of its fast pace.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I was left feeling unsettled and kind of creeped out. The thought of Ava just leaving him there to die was very unsettling to me. It was obvious Nathan was pulling the strings from the beginning and not telling the whole truth either. Very interesting movie with a lot to unpack.
