    Watched this a while ago and I’m finally getting around to reviewing it but god damn they do not make movies like this anymore. There’s a deep melancholy underscoring the second half that genuinely pulls at my heartstrings, and the comedic moments and character moments and set pieces and performances are all in conversation with that feeling. Great visual style. Great zingers. Great soundtrack. Great Alex Trebek.

    I think I’m giving this motion picture three out of five possible stars. 

    Tragically overly-earnest millennial dialogue. Generally very compelling production design—the look and feel of the technology is so textural and industrial and analog. Most of the performances leave a bit to be desired with one very clear exception. Astoundingly upsetting monster design.
