Le Samouraï 1967
I grew up with Alain Delon as Caesar in Asterix and Obelix and now I stumble upon this french film and OMG THAT MAN. His performance as a cold Ronin just captivated me, when he didn't show any emotion or the little slip ups when one can see that he still is a human that loves and gets hurt. The composition of the first shot is just incredible, the detail and story told through the visual is something that I miss so much in modern cinema.
