I haven't been in a good mood going to the cinema. This bad mood turned better for almost throughout the whole movie, because it has many entertaining situations and dialogues. It shows the Congolese coup in great depth, giving a detailed context about the era, the prelude and the consequences of the events, with music playing throughout the whole movie providing dramaturgy.
On the other hand, because of the non-linear structure the story can be hard to follow or understand at times. For wider audience, the history context could be a bit too long, the moral of the story don't require 2,5 hours to…

I loved the score, it sets a really great tone for the whole movie. Just the love story part I couldn't appreciate. The whole romance felt toxic (pun intended), but not established, i would've needed the motives why they tend to leap into such relationship. I just couldn't believe them, because it did not feel real.
It's an aestheticly pleasing watch, just not my cup of tea (pun intended again).
