  My roulette watch for this week!  Well damn.  That was a twisty-turny ride and I’m here for it.  I knew this had high praise going in but had no real context.  Really interesting story with great themes.  While some of the references might now be dated, the messages of celebrity worship and not losing yourself in a ‘role’ feel very relevant today.  It was fascinating being unable to tell reality from fiction because of our lead’s point of view and…

  Terms of Endearment 1983

  My roulette watch for this week!  Early 80s emotional terrorism hit!  This tearjerker does a good job of picturing the struggles of domestic life with splashes of comedy until it takes a left turn down tragedy road.  Great performances and glad to have checked another Oscar winner off my list, but this kind of genre doesn’t often touch my heart of ice.  6/10 for me!  PS - who knew young Jeff Daniels had abs??

  My last roulette watch for this week!  I’m proud that I was pushed outside my comfort zone and got through this.  That being said, it’s just not a genre I enjoy enough to give this the credit I’m sure it’s due.  The visuals and color palette were very striking, as well as many sound design elements.  Overall glad I was pushed to watch for the experience but don’t see myself revisiting.  6/10 for me
