Miyazaki really did an amazing job here. This film has one of the most beautifully tragic storylines of any Ghibli movie and was truely a phenomenal way to celebrate Miyazaki's career in film making. There is a lot of deeper meaning and symbolism in this film, telling an important message about war, grief, death and change.
