It finally clicked why, even as a kid, I've always loved this movie. This is essentially Chris Walas' ode to the dead genres of Kaiju and Universal Monster movies. In my opinion, this is slightly better than the original.

CODA 2021
A nice movie that's inclusive to the deaf community, without resorting to silly aliens/monsters.
You know what I love about this movie? The choir practice scenes. It sounds like everyone is actually singing without ADR and you can hear a difference when the main character actually uses her diaphragm to sing. Very minor but very important detail (for me anyway).
I get it, there's a lot of emotionally manipulative movies, but this doesn't feel like one of them. There's nothing disingenuous here, this movie has heart.
The choir teacher is a good teacher, I don't care what anyone says.
