    I find it fascinating how the social critique made by Kubrick can still be applied to our current socio-political context. Only instead of nuclear annihilation, we're now facing an existential threat by the climate crisis and the anthropogenic mass extinction.

    It is too late now to retreat the B-52 bombers, our emissions have reached a point of no return. And the doomsday device, the environmental tipping points, will unleash chaos in our society once they're activated.
