everything wonderful abt this movie aside, the reunion between parent and child while K lies on the steps in the snow is so very personal to me, it’s so perfect and bittersweet and human especially in the face of the techno-dystopian world.

for better or worse this is the most western that bong joon ho has ever been. pattinson is wonderful as well but it’s very on the nose in terms of what it’s trying to say, which is fine but also…. seems surface level and pointed!! which is fine bc it’s very fun, but idk if i’ll revisit for a while!
