Another Incredible Nolan viewing experience. The duel between Bale and Hugh, for both screen presence and character within the story, is the real magic. I believe that the story winding itself up for its finale, or “prestige,” by using slighted perception and hidden details, mirroring a foretold outline of magic, includes some of Nolan’s most brilliant storytelling methods.
