Sloppy, uneven but fun “4 interconnected stories” film. I’m from the bay and was 10 when this movie is set (1987). It’s full stop a love letter to Oakland and the bay, and I had to pinch myself as a warrior kills nazis as E-40 plays in the background.

It’s a hot mess; but it’s a fun ride. Style over substance.  The four stories interweave in the most basic of ways and honestly you could skip the first two stories and be just fine. 

But killing nazis is always worth a star or two.
