This really might be the most awesome movie I’ve ever seen. The pace is perfect, completely unrelenting, plot scene, then action scene, and repeat for 90 minutes. And it’s gotta be some of the best shootouts and hand-to-hand combat ever filmed. This is pure kinetic filmmaking, lightning captured in a film camera.
    A masterclass in action.

Loved this, it’s not perfect, but its flaws only add to its charm. The vibe is immaculate, so poetically potent, an action film of beating and bleeding hearts all intertwined, beautifully shot and scored, this is truly emotionally resonant and rewarding filmmaking. It does an incredible job of making you fall in love with these characters.

This was my first “heroic bloodshed” film, maybe even my first Hong Kong film, and I’m very excited to dig in further. The melodrama! The action! I’m hooked.

I’m still baffled by the response this film received. I believe this is not only the best film of 2022, but, the best film of this decade so far. A visually stunning and heartbreaking epic. Some of the criticism thrown at this film is absolutely disgusting, very anti-art.

    First, the film itself.
The film reminds me of Breaking The Waves, one of my all time favorites, it reminds me of
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me too. They all share…

Wenders’ best, right next to Wings of Desire.

On this watch, 4th or 5th I’m not sure, I really noticed the music. It has this very tense, somewhat oppressive sound, with just the slightest tinge of melancholy. Perfectly fits the film.

There are so many incredible scenes and moments, almost too many to name. I think my favorite this last watch is right before the famous train sequence, when Jonathan is in the apartment with the gun, so much said…
