no one spoke in complete sentences!!! drove me nuts.
spent most of this movie confused and a touch less hot and bothered than I’d hoped to be.
why was this a thriller? everyone knew they were fucking and no one cared. no stakes.
but like still compelling? I like all these movies about older women getting it on with younger men. nicole kidman is dominating that genre.
i liked this movie. more than most who left reviews. dramatic fictional athletic matches give me a window into what it feels like to care about sports—it’s fun! how can you not route for paul bettany with his awkward and modest colin-firth-like charm. surprised to see kirsten dunst in a tougher and flirtier role (maybe i’ve only seen her in spider man and little women, and as the voice of kiki lol). she still bothers me, but i didn’t mind…
ok cast!! I laughed out loud a bunch, but dermot lost me at the end a bit with all the breathless “Julie” reads
