Dismally unengaging. This would be incredibly impressive if this was the first film I'd ever seen, but alas....
The color-grading is incredibly drippy, my vision is just not grabbed by what's on-screen. The film-grain used in Milton Richie's part is just ugly against the higher definition camera quality.
Nothing about the integral infection is interesting. It makes you act crazy, laugh, bite people, and slowly lose your self of sense? Goodness.
I think where this film ultimately loses me though…

You know how people will often say lovingly that a film is "soooo 80's"?
That's where I'm at with Oculus, but for the 2010's. It's got almost everything - possession, excessive gore, and ghost hunting. And it's probably the best movie you're going to get that's also indicative of the horror genre in the early 2010's. Except maybe The Conjuring.
