    The Wind Will Carry Us

    ★★★★½

An engineer & his crew visit a village to await the death of an invalid.

This is my tenth, & final film that I will be watching for my Abbas Kiarostami binge & what a fitting end to my experience with his filmography.

“The Wind Will Carry Us” is Kiarostami’s most perplexing, with dense symbolism that tackles an array of subjects. With such a simple, yet mysterious premise, it gives room to the deeper, more poetic side of cinema.

In order to escape a slave-like life on a mining colony, a group of youngins decide to board an abandoned space station, which may or may not be infested by xenomorphs…

As a huge fan of the franchise I am always skeptical when it comes to new iterations of Alien. I mean we don’t have the best track record here, but luckily Romulus serves us fans right despite not being the most refreshing watch.
