The contrast between the first two films and Before Midnight surprised me. The witty banter and sexual tension evident in the first two has been replaced with familiarity. At first, I wanted a fairytale ending but now I think leaving it a little ambiguous, left more to the viewer to decide how Celine and Jesse proceed.

In a way this trilogy feels like a mirror, what I see it in now may change in years to come but that’s what…

I watched this in the cinema for Valentine’s Day and god did it spark something in me… basically to become a lesbian full time. I also wish I could paint, or had a talent in general. French film always leave me pleasantly satisfied with life -c’est la vie

The film is equivalent to bumping into your ex at a café, and realising the conversation you never finished 9 years ago is still the most interesting one you’ve ever had. Ethan Hawke (he lowkey got uglier) and Julie Delpy’s (she’s still beautiful) chemistry is so electric, you’ll either want to call your ex or book a spontaneous trip to Paris—please always do the latter x

Recommended to me by a 40-something-year old manager at work - one of his favourite films he said, clearly a hopeless romantic. I enjoyed the views of Vienna and dialogue between Jesse and Celine. Lowkey sad again about being broken up with but I am now hopeful for my future European train rides
