It's not as good as Godzilla Minus One...
Seriously though, the Legendary monster movies aren't my favorite. I saw someone compare them to the spirit of the Toho Godzillas, and that's pretty fair. There's not a lot of real stakes, but there's a TON of fighting and always, ALWAYS new monsters. This film looks incredible, sounds perfect, and is acted *almost* impeccably. Depp in the lead role did fairly well, bet fans of the Herzog adaptation will sorely miss Isabelle Adjani. And her nods to the actress honestly made me miss her even more. But perhaps the biggest flaw in my view is the positioning of Ellen in the plot.
