Cut from the same cloth as the likes of Cure and Memories of Murder.
Because those two films already exist, this does feel a bit derivative, but luckily there’s enough here to keep things interesting. The cinematography is excellent, and the look of the film really fits the time period in which it is set. At times I had to remind myself this is a modern movie and not something made in the mid- to late nineties (complimentary).
Overall, it’s a gloomy, haunting experience, and worth the watch for sure.
