Tornatore's masterpiece is a reminder of our undying love of cinema. However far you move from your home town, relatives and friends, you will always find a theater. Hidden in a church, an unsuspecting street, a small port. And this home town, these friends and relatives will always be a part of who you have become. Combined with Morricone's talent, this piece of art is lifted to movie paradise.

Last and First Men 2020
Extraordinary.
If Philip Glass made a movie, it would be exactly like this. Minimal, yet majestic. Almost hypnotising.
Being a fan of Star Trek, life in the future was portrayed as peaceful, close to utopia. Experiencing this haunting epic, trying to paint the pictures described by the incomparable Tilda Swinton in my head, was deeply unsettling.
Off to read the book.
