Having Robert De Niro of all people say that his son shouldn’t date/marry a black woman is pure COMEDY
Overall this is a really great coming-of-age film. I expected it to be a little bit heavier on the romance between C and Jane, but it was still amazing without it. The racist getting burned in the car was an immaculate detail. The end made me a little sad. I liked that Sonny ended up being a good & positive influence on C, instead of a negative one that wanted him in mob life. He really pushed him to be a great (and non-prejudice/racist) man.Translated from by
