Visceral and heartbreaking as a whole.
The last scenes (taking the kids to bed, finding a common pace and all of a sudden understanding each other again) were a replay of the disc after a relapse and it feels like it will never end. Gena Rowlands is just too good.

Doubting one’s self upon a life shaped by one’s dearest flaws. Not being able to break the generational cycle of traumas. It all comes down to pain, not reverie. It hurts, but it's not shown. Just like Chopin's prelude, according to Charlotte. Helena’s illness as the living result // of Charlotte, a mother, a performer, who despised her children and her past, who felt tremendous guilt, who couldn’t bear the thought of their existence // of Eva, a daughter who is incapable of loving, paralysed in other terms. Very cruel. Liv’s and Ingrid's performances were just too good.
