I've seen this movie three times and to be completely honest, I could go for a fourth.
It's a gorgeous film overall. I would go so far as to say it's the most beautiful movie I've ever watched. Visually and audibly, I don't think anything comes close. It's a unique movie for sure.
On the surface level, Donnie Darko is an eerie trip into the psyche of a paranoid schizophrenic so convincingly shot and written that you understand why this film is an enduring cult classic. Throughout the movie, you're constantly questioning what sinister machinations drive this outlandish plot forward, always doubting yourself and backtracking on your theories whenever the movie throws another twist at you.
