If Beale Street Could Talk 2018
A culturally rich, emotionally powerful, and gracefully sincere meditation on life and love that held my attention and interest from beginning to end. Every aspect of this film contributed to that in a way that left me immersed, wasting no time and displaying such great command of the screen. This is a movie that achieves exactly what it sets out to do, and I truly felt near everything it portrayed on top of thinking deep about everything it portrayed. Definitely cried to this one

Really mixed feelings about this one.. On one hand it’s a well made documentary with some legitimate criticisms towards the American education system that also features some heartbreaking real life stories. It was sad but personally inspiring for me, wanting to become a great educator who can help in spite of the system’s shortcomings. I find it odd that this movie name drops Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube but doesn’t even reference Jay-Z, Method Man or The LOX even though they actually made songs with Biggie. Anthony Mackie as 2Pac has also gotta be one of the weirdest casting choices in a biopic
