Straight up not bad. The father/son laser dance scene was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while.

Gladiator II 2024
Perfectly acceptable film. Should’ve been split into 2 separate movies with much more backstory. It just felt like they were trying to do too much with too little. I imagine the original cut would’ve been 5+ hours long, and the release was the result of too much needing to be cut out to fit time and attention parameters.
Nothing will replace the first, but I would’ve watch again.
While the first Gladiator is a classic masterpiece, this is a fun popcorn film.

I’ve come back to this film three times now- something I can’t say about other Nolan films.
Painful, uncomfortable and heartbreaking. It was a showcase of pettiness, misplaced obsession and the fine line between ambition and lunacy.
