This is a out the 12th time watching this. Obtroduced both Clem & James to it. They stayed til the end. They did not boo. Seemed to be a win :P
I love this film.
Please watch it. It is the pinnacle of artists creating on film (and fekkin only went and inspired Spielburg to carry on, awarded a guest spot for the two leads on The Simpsons & won them Best Song at the Oscars:P
The term "lost film" is usually given to old, silent films of early cinema. It's equally valid for more modern films, though it happens a lot rarer.
"A Month in the Country" was, for a number of years, lost to us. The original negatives had been misplaced and all copies of the film sent to cinemas (despite having had a lengthy 6 month run in London) had also been lost.

A couple decades or so ahead of its time. This should be up there with "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" or "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in terms of non-Disney family-friendly musicals.
It was made by Dr Seuss, for crying' out loud! (His only foray into live action films in his lifetime, by the way).
