Somehow, none of the songs in a musical film are memorable. The film also kept trying to make it seem like there were high stakes despite the island's future not really being in danger.

I find it strange that this might be the only movie where Chris Pratt plays someone besides himself in different clothing. Good on him for actually acting. Other than that, it's unbelievably mediocre. Anyway, here's my ramblings about the sci-fi elements of the film:
There's a huge missed opportunity to have the spinning parts of the ship actually provide a combination of thrust/centrifugal artificial gravity, but no, the ship just needed to have a magical gravity drive.
