This magnificent film gives us the opportunity to experience the injustice and monstrosity of the Brazilian dictatorship through the eyes of a loving family. It represents the strength of love against hate. Eunice swimming in the rough sea of Rio de Janeiro is a delicate and well-chosen metaphor.

In Bed with Victoria 2016
The seed of Anatomy of a fall. Very interesting as presenting women in a different angle, fighting for the right to have a professional life of their own, aside of being a mother or a girlfriend. Sounds very old fashioned to say that but, oh man, it’s not that easy. Please allow me to be an attractive person even if I’m also a working mom. That’s what makes Victoria so relatable. BTW, English translation of the title is horrendous and biased.

Happy as Lazzaro 2018
What a wonderful world this would be if there were more Lazzaros among us. The third movie I’ve watched of this subtle film maker and I just adore the way Alice Rohrwacher observes and transmits the oldest traditions. It’s a fascinating story and great food for thought.
