The Northman 2022
Robert Eggers hasn't compromised his vision for his first studio film. The Northman is a viking epic and it is brutal, gritty, realistic and incredibly visceral. The cinematography is sublime and transcendent at times, and Eggers' style oozes through each frame. It feels more like a true depiction of Viking culture than any film i've ever seen, and it's mythological elements are insanely well represented. The children of Välholl haven't ever been so 'metal'.
But there's something missing. Everything outside…
