Finally got around to watching A Complete Unknown, and I am glad that I did. This movie is a solid biopic and, in my opinion, a worthy introduction to Bob Dylan, showcasing his work, talent, and mystique with the utmost respect. It amazes me how much this movie holds up on rewatch. Genuinely, not a scene is wasted, and the rapid progression of the plot—Michael’s downward spiral, in particular—unfolds so organically.
Everything about The Godfather, from its performances to its character developments, is just of the highest quality. This has obviously all been said before, but the fact that a movie this ambitious exists and is as cohesive as it is is truly something to marvel at.
