You're Next 2011
I really wanted to like this film. I loved the atmosphere of the trailer but when it came to the actual film I found it wanting.
The style of the masks used and the prominant moment of the family saying grace together before dinner reminded me somewhat of Kill List or The Wicker Man, (both of which I greatly admire) leaving me wondering if there would be a religious angle to the story, a mystery to it's aesthetic. A Good Day to Die Hard 2013
About 10 minutes into this film a bad guy exclaims "I'm sick of this shit!!!" and sadly so was I. 85 minutes later and I had not changed my mind. This film is painfully awful with its wooden acting, wooden script, only 3 set pieces across the entire running time and enough racial stereotyping to sink a Russian U-Boat. Now I have no problem with mindless action films but this was just mindless. A definate contender for worst film of the year. Hans Gruber will be turning in his grave.
