This movie, Mindhunter, and Se7en may be the reason for the true crime obsession we’ve seen the past 5 years. The Last Waltz 1978
Not just a last waltz for a great band, but a last waltz for an era of rock music and a time in culture. The best concert film of all time.

Nosferatu 2024
Eggers bring his atmospheric horror directing to a film classic, and successfully updates the German expressionist masterpiece while still paying homage to it. For classic film fans that don’t watch many modern horror films: beware, although Eggers keeps the feeling of the original, this remake is full of scares and vulgarity. The acting was phenomenal, the creature design was perfect, and the setting made you feel 1800s Europe to your core. Probably my second favorite Eggers film behind The Lighthouse, but I need a rewatch to fully validate these feelings.

Re-Animator 1985
Fun, purposely campy, 80s horror with extra gore, and only an hour and 26 mins. Might have to watch this every Halloween now and it reminded me how whimsical the 80s VHS horror genre is. Need to watch the sequels now.
