The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
MARIO DOUBLE FEATURE!! sort of. started watching this, and then my laptop died about halfway through. when i got it on the charger i realized i didn’t really care, and put on the simpsons instead. the animation and character design were the strongest parts, and that was more a credit to nintendo than anyone else. all the celebrity voice actors were just doing their Regular Voices which really broke the immersion, and making Charles Martinet Chris Pratt Mario’s mean dad…

I HONESTLY LOVED THIS, THIS WAS SUCH A FUN WATCH. I do understand why it was so controversial at the time, as it takes the mario canon as a loose suggestion, but the sets, THE COSTUMES, characters, and special effects were genuinely so fun and well done, and it felt kind of like if a passionate fan project or parody got a feature film budget. i know i throw this around a lot but this was drag to me. luigi was kinda *sound of a de-evolution gun cocking*
