Mona Lisa 1986
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I’m torn.
I was on board with the film until the three quarter mark. The acting is fairly brilliant (from Bob Hoskins especially) the cinematography and the setting are GORGEOUS.
But that last 15 minutes was just kinda… gross? For lack of a better word.
I really didn’t catch on that he was in love with Simone, and then to act how he did when he realised she was wanting to run away with Cathy. (I’m assuming?) Slapping her around…

An incredible story about the founder of wushu, told with beautiful cinematography, deep character development and performances.
Jet Li shines in this film playing an introspective philosopher that has suffered and learned from his past mistakes to a whole other level of kick ass in some of the most amazing fight scenes I’ve seen.Translated from by -
