Wow, just wow. It’s a crime that I went this long without seeing a movie by my favorite director with all my favorite actors. In classic Nolan fashion, this is a movie with insane rewatch value, as there are endless nuances and intricacies of Christian’s and Hugh’s performances that become clearer after the first viewing. This is a movie that really makes you think about what you’re watching and stimulates the imagination, a rare breed nowadays.

Gladiator II 2024
I haven’t seen the original Gladiator in full yet, but I was surprised by how much this sequel included from the first film. I found many of the details in this movie to be unnecessary and felt they detracted from the more gritty and realistic tone I was expecting (ie. CGI baboons and sharks, letting gladiators use crossbows??). That said, having had nothing to compare it to going in, I enjoyed the movie and the water fight in the Coliseum was pretty awesome.
