On the show he is celebrated as a hero for his hand in the killing of possibly over a million people during the Indonesian mass killings of 1965–66. Paris Is Burning 1990
A snapshot of a time and a culture that I was never apart of, and most likely can’t exist anymore. I’ve never been to a ball or a pageant, but I’ve been to a handful of drag shows. It’s really interesting to see how the events portrayed in the film and what I have personally witnessed are so drastically different. Would be a whole lot better without the additional directors cut CGI added in lmao. A lot of these ideas were ripped straight from A Brave New World, but they are presented so well that it’s hard not to be impressed. Insanely good production design, especially considering how cheap this is. Sound design is top notch. Very industrial.
