I like movies!
Favorites are February first time viewings.
While it feels like a handful of recent “eat the rich/wtf men?” the script is pretty good & I appreciated all the payoffs in the final act. The ending fell flat for me but that’s ok, imma enjoy this BIG FAT BLUNT.
Enjoyed the feeling, vibes & look of New York City. Lots to digest with a mostly “normal” story filled with tons of unlikable & racist characters! Everyone is kinda the worst & the final act seemingly comes out of nowhere but also was there the entire time. Gonna be thinking about it for a while.
This year’s viewing facts with the in-laws included:
1. Bing Crosby was 51 & Danny Kaye was 43 during filming.
2. Yelling in anticipation when Vera-Ellen trips over Danny Kaye’s foot.
3. In-laws getting tuckered out & taking a 20 min nap in the middle.
4. Rosemary Clooney is George Clooney’s aunt.
5. A backup dancer went on to perform in West Side Story (1961).
