Nosferatu 2024
Terrifying until halfway through when it became quite ridiculous and tediously paced.
The “were men of reason!” discussion was out of place given the period.
Also, the purging of Christianity from the plot was both historically inaccurate and inconsistent with the nature of the original Dracula mythos which was deeply Christian. Trying to default to some kind of generic occultism caused the plot to lose its power as the real terror of the story is damnation, not simply a physical monster. I’m surprised Eggers didn’t realise this.
