  Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai 1999

  This movie was way better than I thought it would be based on trailers on my action VHS tapes. There's such an attention to character that a lot of directors fail to capture. At times, I felt like I was watching a Lynch film. I love the characters, costume design, and the soundtrack. Ghost Dog is the man.

  Beautiful film, I'm gonna need to watch something to understand what I saw lol

  Addendum: After sitting with it for a bit I really appreciate how this film twists your sense of reality. Weirdly I feel like I connect more with the deuteragonist than the protoganist, which is something I really liked about my experience watching it. I think it's a pertinent film for me and many others right now as we navigate how we use nostalgia to cope with growing older.

  I can tell it's something that warrants a rewatch, so hopefully I can do that soon.
