I thought this was a nice expansion on the original. Was it the best movie they could have made? No. The dwarves could have at least been real people and not CGI. Rachel Zegler was perfectly cast for the role, and Waiting on a Wish quickly became my favorite song of the movie.
It started out strong, then after the prequel moments it dropped off. I did like the inclusion of the bandits and Jonathan 🥵.
I also was not expecting the Dopey story arc and that was probably one of the better moments of the movie.

From the trailers, I was expecting a completely different movie than the one I saw. That being said, it was still an entertaining movie to watch. Definitely had some satire with the current political climate, and had some interesting views on the ethics of having multiple copies of a person.

The casting for this movie was incredible. Ari as Glinda was on point with her comedic timing. I loved seeing the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda go from enemies to besties throughout it. And the ending in the Emerald City was *chefs kiss*. Defying Gravity left me with chills, as well as the note at the end from Elphaba.
I also loved the nod to Kristen and Idina they threw in as well.
