  A really interesting take on grief and the release found in self-destructive behavior. Appropriately dramatic but with a consistent humorous undertone. While the main character is a bit absurd, I think it delivers a really compelling arc, and Gyllenhaal’s performance does a lot to keep it on the right side of believable. My main complaint is that the focus on Karen is completely dropped halfway through, which feels like a big oversight. We don’t get anything into how her and…

  Very good at building tension, the oscillating shots especially. Not insanely frightening, but a good amount I think. Likable characters. A little scarce on plot and kinda thin justifications for a lot of the filming in the “found footage” style.
